To mark the launch of the Design Trust Business Club membership, Patricia Van Den Dekker, the Design Trust CEO has pulled together a fantastic line up of speakers for a one day only business development programme. The whole programme is free to designers and craftspeople, including students, graduates & the more established.
The speaker line-up is superb and will cover an excellent range of key subjects from how to start a business, how to grow it, how to obtain funding, how to find partners as well as critical advice on Intellectual Property and financial management. It will be a great opportunity to obtain key business development information and to meet The Design Trust and some of its partners in person.
Heading the line-up is ex Dragon’s Den Doug Richards who will introduce his School for Creative Start-Ups, Fiona Chautard, Specialist adviser for fashion, textiles and retail, of Scotland’s Cultural Enterprise Office, Alison Branagan, author & business adviser will advise on steps to self-employment and Maxine Horn, CEO, Creative Barcode will advise on how to protect your innovation concepts without complexity.
In total there are 20 speakers, experts in their fields & covering business development for sectors such as Jewellery, Textiles, Design and Digital.
Some speakers will be staying on to provide 1 to 1 advice to any delegate including Maxine Horn, Creative Barcode, Jennifer Castoldi, ACID and Vicky Creevy of Ideas Tap.

The Design Trust was originally founded by the late Peta Levi MBE, more than 20 years ago. She was also instrumental in setting up the New Designers show and now under new management the two organisations have maintained a very close working relationship.
New Designers is the UK’s most important graduate design exhibition. In 2012 over 3,500 of the brightest and most creative talents from Britain’s leading design courses will come together for the 27th edition of the show.
